15 Tiny Habits to a NEW YOU - ORGANIZED!

Written By: Sandi MacCalla, Founder - LifeSkills Academy ~ 4/24/2023

As a “project person,” daily habits smack of being disciplined. These tiny habits help me sneak up on my project nature and reach the “Nirvana” of being Organized. Do them in any order, over any length of time that works for you – over a weekend or over a year, or two.

  1. BLOGPOST_TinyHabits04242023.jpgStart creating and following an easy daily routine to stick to.

  2. Make your bed at the start of each day. It makes a huge difference you’ll appreciate.

  3. Start a planner/calendar/app to track goals/appointments/deadlines/events.

  4. Organize your thoughts/ideas in a journal/notebook.

  5. Remove distractions from your environment so you can focus on the task at hand.

  6. Declutter your space to be more comfortable, functional, and organized.

  7. Stay on top of things by cleaning up throughout the day.

  8. Schedule what you need or want to do daily and check/mark them off when they're done. The Best To-Do List Apps for 2023 | PCMag

  9. List measurable steps to your goals and make it a habit to do one thing daily that gets you closer to your target.

  10. Sort your clothes by season/type/color to make getting ready in the morning easier.

  11. Extra points if you set your clothes out the night before.

  12. Make a list of things you need to buy at the grocery store, so you don't have to spend time thinking about it or forgetting what to buy when you shop.

I use the Costco app list for all my grocery shopping. I pre-code items with the first initial of the store and the item name. They can then be listed by store and by item alphabetically.

  13. Use labeled folders to keep your paperwork sorted and organized.
Try to handle them once only.

  14. Set aside time each day to deal with tasks that you've been procrastinating on.

  15. Create a "ta-dah" list at the end of each day listing what you accomplished.
