Thankful Thursdays

(Experiencing Mindfulness)

Each year on the fourth Thursday of November, families and friends gather together to give thanks for their blessings. In recent times, we have endured fires, floods, hurricanes, a world-wide pandemic, and financial upheaval. From The Corner Office presents THANKFUL THURSDAYS several times during the year with reasons to give thanks all year long.

BLOGPOST_ThankfulThursday08092021A.jpgDuring this month of August, the theme for thanks is LIFE. In my life, August is a month filled with celebrations: my grandmother, my daughter and I have birthdays; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and friends have August birthdays as well. My wedding anniversary and my baby brother’s wedding anniversary were also in August. There is an occasion to party almost every day of the month.

Your family might not be filled with such occasions. However, there is much LIFE to be celebrated in other areas.

BLOGPOST_ThankfulThursday08092021C.jpgIt is the heart of summer. Be thankful for swimming, boating and jet skiing. Gathering for fun in the sun is freeing. Away from the stresses of work, school, deadlines, and time constraints, you can relax and embrace the joys of living. Give thanks for that ability.

Perhaps sun activities are not at the top of your enjoyment list.

Whatever your pleasure, give thanks that it is possible to do so. Be at one with nature. Let your stresses peel away to leave you rejuvenated and refreshed.

While we might express joy in different ways, it is fairly universal to celebrate a new LIFE with hope and optimism. Whenever a baby comes onto the scene, even the crankiest amongst us are aglow with anticipation for the future. The innocence, the possibilities, the dreams form in all of us for that child.

There is more than enough time to spend on the negative. Let Thursdays be your day of appreciation. THANKFUL THURSDAYS should happen each week, not just on the fourth Thursday in November.
